The See of Peter Looks to Ukraine

"The Catholic Church in Ukraine is a cause of joy and hope."

Pope Benedict XVI. As a material manifestation of his joy and hope, the Holy Father donated $130,000 to the Ukrainian Catholic University from the personal gifts he received on his eightieth birthday.

"The Ukrainian Greek
Catholic Church is called to bring its rich heritage of faith, prayer and witness, matured over centuries, confirmed by suffering and sealed with blood, as its contribution to the journey towards the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000."
