UGCC Consecrates Ecumenical House for Social Service in Poland
Pralkiwci, Poland — Cardinal Lubomyr Husar, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), and Metropolitan Ivan (Martyniak) of Przemysl and Warsaw of the UGCC consecrated an ecumenical house for social help in the village of Pralkiwci, near Przemysl, on 4 June 2005.
The construction of the ecumenical house for social help started in June 1999 on a plot donated by a Ukrainian family. It is planned that the house will develop into a rehabilitation center and a school for social service volunteers.
Today, it already has an administrative center, a chapel, a few rooms and a rehabilitation center, which will host people regardless of their nationality or religion. In the future, it will have the capacity to lodge about 100 people.
